What you’ll experience in Imagine That! class:
Imaginative play. Pretend play activities are integrated into every aspect of class. Through singing, storytelling, dancing, and instrument play, your child’s ability to role play is fostered. When based upon a child’s real life experiences, pretend play helps develop language, sensory, motor, and cognitive skills.
Vocal development. Through rhymes, vocal play, storytelling, and singing, your child will learn to expressively use their voice. Singing helps with memory and recall, physical development, creativity and socialization.
Moving bodies and hands. An active preschooler is ready to creatively move their bodies in response to music. Skills such as skipping, hoping, standing on one foot, and pretending to be animals and objects are explored in many creative activities in response to musical and vocal cues. Hand skills are strengthened with instrument play and finger rhymes.
Literacy development. Each class is built on the development of a story, so you’ll hear a lot of talking from preschoolers as they search for the word to say what they mean and try to keep up with their busy minds, emerging wants, needs, likes, and dislikes.
Building social skills. Your preschooler is ready for a learning environment with their peers, learning respect, cooperation, problem solving and empathy as they share together in this nurturing environment. These valuable skills ensure success in the larger school environment.
Parent participation. In the first 30 minutes of class, your child learns independently with peers. The need for encouragement by you is fostered in the final 15 minutes of class during Family Sharing Time. Your Kindermusik educator provides you with developmental information and highlights specific learning concepts to be enjoyed at home with your child, utilizing your At Home Materials and real-life experiences.
