What you’ll experience in an Our Time class:
Bonding time. All through class, you and your child develop special bonds as you explore instrument play, lap bounces, free dances, and “slow down time”.
Focused listening activities. Let your toddler hear a sound, then make it back. This echoing game helps your child to focus attention and learn the nuances of language development and build oral skills.
Instrument play. With age-appropriate instruments, your child will explore sounds and creative ways in which to play music. Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and rhythm skills are built during exploration and play along activities.
Stories and early literacy. Listening to stories enhances language and speech development and fosters awareness of sounds, teaches use of language, and sends the message that words and symbols have meaning. Music has all the elements of language, and so are natural partners!
Movement Activities. From fine motor to gross motor to expressive movement to choreographed dance, each class fosters learning as your child learns best- by moving.
Social development. As your child learns to share, put instruments away, acknowledge friends in the hello song, and dance together as a group, your child will interact with other children and families. This builds critical social skills that carry long outside the Kindermusik classroom.
Expert advice. Your Kindermusik Educator explains “what-to-watch-for” every step of the way, and how each musical activity enhances your child’s complete development. Your educator will highlight activities to enhance the learning experience at home, utilizing your At Home Materials.
